These are the frequenently asked questions about the New Student Record.
Q:
What type of photo should I send in?
A:
A head and shoulders shot works best. Many students use their high school graduation portraits. Some students send more candid shots or shots of them doing what they love best.
Q:
How do I pick up the New Student Record?
A:
Student copies are delivered to student’s campus mail during move-in weekend. You will get a slip that you have a package to pick up at your area mailroom. Just take that slip and your Hokie Passport to your mailroom to receive your book. Parent copies are shipped to the home address you specify.
Q:
Can you just use my Hokie Passport ID photo or the photo I sent in to my college or department?
A:
No, to be included in the book, you need to supply a photo directly to us. We don’t have access to your ID photo or photos sent to a department. Photos must be mailed in or uploaded online. To upload online, visit our website NSR Photo Upload
Q:
Do I have to purchase a book?
A:
Purchasing the book is completely optional. We encourage every member of the incoming class to submit a photo and information at no charge to be included in the historical record. The New Student Record is placed on file at the Virginia Tech library as is the Bugle, the yearbook.
